Chapter 9: Light at the End of the Tunnel

The gang tries to find a way through the mysterious door within the tunnel, but it seems to be locked by some kind of ancient device. This shortcut may not turn out to be as short as they were hoping!

Players will earn prizes, and plot points, by participating in the storyline throughout the plot itself. Some prizes will be earned by playing mini games and/or via the Battledome. There is a chapter max of 3,000 points in place.

After Nyx shatters the stone, the group descends into the chamber where they thought Baelia had fallen—only to discover it empty.

Baelia and Luxinia are deep in conversation when, without warning, a thunderous rumble shakes the air around them. You can read all the plot dialogue here.

Suddenly, the wall they had entered through slams shut, and water begins to flood the room!

Baelia turns and spots an illuminated altar—something that could help her come to the aid of her friends.

Puzzle

The last of the Passage Puzzles brought the heroes face-to-face with a Fallen Phrase Puzzle. In this type of puzzle, letters are scrambled across a grid, and it’s up to you to rearrange them to reveal a hidden message. Starting with single-letter words or spotting common three-letter words are great ways to crack these puzzles!

This puzzle consisted of columns of squares representing letters in a phrase. Available letters to fill each square were shown beneath the columns. With 3 rows in the puzzle and a total of 13 words, it promised a real challenge. The puzzle was as shown below:

By carefully swapping the letters around, the phrase revealed itself:

"With this key, there is hope. Choose wisely on where to place it."

Finding this phrase gave the heroes an essential clue, but merely entering it wasn’t enough. Baelia had to act quickly—deciding where to use the key before the walls could crush her friends.

The correct action was to obstruct the gears threatening the chamber. Using one of the following words—"wheel", "wheels", "gear", or "gears"—Baelia jammed the key between them, halting the deadly machinery and buying her friends precious time to escape the flooding chamber!

Easter Egg: If someone tried "door", "doors", or "lock", the game responded with a clever message showcasing the teamwork required (it also would reward the Locked Out Fearless Deed:

“As Baelia stretched to try and put the key in the door, hoping that opening it would release all the water, she noticed a damaged plaque near the lock. It read -

'This door shall only open to the one who mastered the qualities needed to pass these trials and embraced the great power.'

The key would not turn for her alone… she needs the others with her!”

With quick thinking and teamwork, the Passage Puzzle was finally overcome!
