Introduction

Obstacle Course Caper was introduced during Altador Cup XX. In this game, you play as a Yooyu racing through an obstacle course, dodging hazards while collecting point flags to earn the highest score possible.

How to Play

The game begins with a Yooyuball rolling across a field filled with various obstacles. To control the Yooyu, click and hold your mouse button while moving your cursor left and right to dodge the oncoming hazards. On mobile devices, press and hold the screen while sliding your finger left and right to avoid obstacles.

There are two ways to earn points in the game: surviving for as long as possible and collecting Point Flags. You earn 10 points for every second you stay alive and 100 points for each Point Flag you collect. Picking up a Double Points potion increases the value of Point Flags to 200 points for its duration.

You can also pause the game if you need to step away for any reason, then resume playing right where you left off.

Obstacles

There are five different types of obstacles you'll encounter during each run, with some obstacles appearing in multiple variations.

The Catapult is a stationary obstacle that launches rocks diagonally across the field. They can appear individually or in groups of 5 or more along either side of your path.

Fences are stationary obstacles that can appear horizontally or vertically in various positions, blocking your path.

Ground Spikes can appear in two different sizes: small and large. They may appear individually or in rows with small gaps that you must carefully weave through to avoid ending your run.

The Meepit is a moving obstacle that walks horizontally back and forth across the field. They can appear with varying movement speeds, ranging from very slow to extremely fast.

Spike Balls can appear as either stationary or moving obstacles. Stationary Spike Balls can come in various sizes, ranging from small to large. Moving Spike Balls are larger and travel horizontally back and forth along a chain fence, with posts on either side.

Potions

All potions in the game last for 5 seconds after being collected. If you pick up another potion before the first one expires, the original effect will be replaced and a new timer will begin with the newly collected power-up.

The Double Points potion increases the value of each Point Flag collected to 200 points.

The Shrink Potion decreases the size of your Yooyu, making it easier to navigate through tight spaces and avoid obstacles.

The Slow Potion decreases the speed of your Yooyu. This power-up can create either helpful or challenging situations depending on the obstacles ahead.

Tips & Trick

  • Using a mobile device is recommended over a computer or laptop. Mouse movement can feel more restrictive, while touch controls allow for smoother and more flexible movement.
  • If playing on a handheld device, using a stylus can make controlling the Yooyu and moving back and forth much easier.
  • When aiming for a high score, don't worry about collecting every Point Flag. Some flags may put you at risk of hitting obstacles, and surviving longer is often the better choice since you will continue earning points over time and can collect safer flags later.
  • Try to submit your score after at least 10 seconds of gameplay to avoid receiving an Invalid Session error.
  • To have your game count toward your team and earn Prize Shop Points, you must submit a minimum score of 1,000 points.
