The Second-Hand Shoppe

Do you like getting free clothing for your Neopets? If you are a bit short on Neopoints, but would love to get into customizing your pets, the Neopian Second-Hand Shoppe is the place for you. It works the same way as the Money Tree, but it is only for wearables. Remember, everything is free, so it is a great way for poor Neopians to provide some snazzy clothing for their pets.

Getting Items

Like I said before, the Second-Hand Shoppe is very similar to the Money Tree. Keep reloading the page until you see an item you like, then click on it. Fast! If you're lucky, that item will be yours! Although occasionally there are good items, most of the time the shop is filled with Piles of Dung (why is this wearable?) and surplus Key Quest wearable prizes, but you may sometimes find that kind Neopians have donated very nice clothing too. Be careful of what you click though, because you can only receive a combined total of 10 items from both the Money Tree and the Second-Hand Shoppe on a daily basis.

Several times per hour, items released into the shop by TNT. These items appear to be donated by prominent Neopian characters, such as Jerdana and Prince Jazan. You can tell which items are put in the Second-Hand Shoppe by TNT, because the names will start with a capital letter. The items donated by the plot characters tend to be a bit more interesting than those donated by average Neopians, and they may include newly-released and expensive items, usually under r80.

On April Fool's Day 2009, hundreds and hundreds of items were "donated" to the shop by plot characters. One item in particular was only obtainable through this event: Wooden Barrel. The Bank Manager's "new look" included it. It is pictured below.

Donating Items

Don't know what to do with the 83 Mossy Rocks you got from Underwater Fishing? Why not donate your surplus wearables to the Second-Hand Shoppe for other Neopians to enjoy? Donating items to the shop is very simple. It works exactly the same way as donating to the Money Tree. Go to your Inventory and click on the wearable item you want to donate. Select "Donate item" from the dropdown, and click Submit. The item is now donated! Alternatively, you can select "Donate" from Quick Stock to donate multiple items at the same time.
