Save the Wheels

Starting at the beginning of July 2010 (Y12), wheels began to go "under construction". First came the Wheel of Knowledge , which was down for "fixing" for a few days.

Thus, the Save the Wheels event started. Everyone in Neopia was prompted to donate Neopoints for the sake of giving all of Neopia's wheels (Knowledge, Excitement, Mediocrity, Monotony, and Misfortune) complete makeovers.

Donate Neopoints for nothing? Not quite. This event has a twist - depending on how many neopoints you donate in one shot, you receive a Save-the-Wheels-related prize. Also, the people that donated the most Neopoints total got to have their names on a leaderboard of sorts (the Top Benefactor page).

NOTE: While a wheel is being "fixed," users are not able to spin it. After it is fixed, everything returns to normal except for the look and such.

Prizes

Please note that you do NOT get a prize if you donate less than 1000 neopoints in one shot. Also remember that it is best to donate the LOWEST POSSIBLE AMOUNT in the range to get the prize you want (in other words, if you wanted the Newsletter, you'd donate 1000 nps, not 9999, since that would give the same result). Also, you only get the prize for your donation range; you do NOT get the prizes for lesser donations at the same time (in other words, you can only get one prize per donation).

It may not necessarily be profitable to donate neopoints to earn the item during the event. Instead, it will be CHEAPER than or equal to the lowest amount of the donation range, since any user can donate that same amount to get the same item. In other words, a Newsletter, for example, will not be worth more than 1000 nps during the event since any user can donate 1000 nps to get it.
