Beta Change Log / Known Issues

Welcome to The Daily Neopets beta (which has been code named "Project Pineapple"). You've been hand-selected to be a part of an exclusive group to test the next generation of The Daily Neopets.

How To Be A Great Tester

We want to hear from you about the following things:

• Pages that die with ugly errors (copy and paste the error to us)
• Pages or things that aren't doing anything (when they should)
• Things you like about the new design and don't
• New features you'd like to see added
• Tell us what it's like managing your account through the new myTDN

Known Issues

• Some links may take you back to the main site (instead of keeping you on the beta site). This will be fixed once beta is released to the public. If this happens to you, simply put new.thedailyneopets.com before the rest of the URL to get back here.
• Signing out of myTDN will cause you to lose access to beta, because we use myTDN to grant you access. Be sure to log in and out at members.thedailyneopets.com for now. This isn't a bug.
• DOM and Fancybox pop-ups are sometimes slow to be ready.

• Project Pineapple (TDN beta) releases to the public TOMORROW!!!
• Re-added the ability to check/uncheck an avatar from the solution pop up
• Fixed the Skirmish alert cycle

As of Oct 15

• The official release date for TDN beta has been announced on the main site
• Fixed myTDN coding errors
• Fixed/prepared URL routing
• Re-added the Wipe Neoavatars Data feature to myTDN
• Finalized the global navigation for release
• Auxiliary search results now display Neoavatars results before Customization items or weapons

• Added an indicator whether or not you have/need an avatar on the Avatar Statistics listing
• Working on Neoavatars search as we speak (it'll be back!)

As of Sep 30

• Fixed the avatar count for Checklists: You Need (Obtainable)
• Fixed the avatar count for Checklists: You Need (Unobtainable)
• Fixed the avatar solution URLs on the Avatar Statistics page
• Fixed the Avatar Counters page, so it doesn't break the layout
• Game guides now properly display avatar solutions upon clicking the link
• Left-aligned the right sidebar calendar

As of Sep 25

• THE NEW NEOAVATARS IS HERE -- try it out!
• Fixed Neoavatars links in solution pop ups, so they go to the right location
• New at Neoavatars: Generate Checklist Code
• New at Neoavatars: Checklist Counters (for you to use!)
• Added an interactive Neopets calendar under "Neopia Today," allowing you to scroll through months

• Improved Fancybox overlay opacity
• Really fixed Snowager time calculations this time

As of Sep 23

• Snowager time calculation fixed for 10 PM NST JK WE FAILED!
• Added Time Until next stage for Skirmish alerts
• Improved the Quick Search feature on the Articles and Game Guides content listing pages
• Added "Return to myTDN" links around myTDN to allow you to get back to the dashboard easier

As of Sep 20

• "Recent TDN Forums Posts" is now Recently at TDN Forums, which now pulls recent topics, instead of recent posts on topics
• Removed bread crumbs from pages that really don't need them (i.e. home page)
• Simplified the rendering engine
• Fixed error 404 pages (ironically, they glitched out)
• Work has begun on redesigning Neoavatars solutions and checklists, per user suggestions

As of Sep 19

• FCA and DPA [Play] links on the Dailies page now open in a new tab
• Improved DOM speed and initialization for navigation and tabs

As of Sep 18

• Updated Dailies page, fixed errors and links
• Added min-height CSS property to the content area to always even it out with the right-hand sidebar
• Fixed bread crumbs/{h1} spacing issue for pages that don't display bread crumbs
• Changed the text color of the right-hand navigation (left links the same blue color)

As of Sep 12

• Bread crumbs (The Daily Neopets > Articles > Help) have a new location at the top of the page

As of Sep 11

• Softened the global site background (less grainy)
• Updated sidebar block images (Alerts, Neopia Today, Recent TDN Forums Posts)
• Removed the colored bars on the global header altogether
• Added a subtle shadow behind the global header
• Updated front page news posts and gave a little more padding to headers

As of Sep 10

• Adjusted the site clock padding and spacing

As of Sep 9

• Changed the date format in the global header from "9/9" to "Sep 9" (easier to determine the month)
• Ensured that all "Neopia Today" calendar listings are contained on one line
• Updated the Advertise page
• Updated the color bars on both sides of the global header to be more distinct
