Style Showdown

The Style Showdown was launched on July 30, 2009 and is scheduled to end on September 8. It's basically a specialized customization contest based on three different themes: Out on the Town, Wacky and Weird, and Ready for Adventure. Each theme spans 2 weeks total.

Entering & The Competition

Once you have customized your pet based on the specified theme (as listed above), you can enter him/her by going to the Style Showdown homepage and clicking "Enter". Then you select the pet you wish to enter. Choose carefully; you can only enter one pet per theme! Note that your pet MUST be wearing at least 3 items to be entered.

Once you enter, you get a free wearable item. For Out on the Town, the free item is a Neovian Lamp Cut Out. Even if you don't like customizing your pets, you might as well enter anyway to get the free item.

After the entry period, nine neopets will be selected by TNT to be semifinalists. You will be able to vote for these semifinalists; and the one with the most votes moves on to the "finals" on August 31st. In other words, the three neopets that place first in the themes will compete against each other on August 31st for the top final spot.

Voting

You can vote once daily during the voting periods by clicking on the Vote link from the Style Showdown. You will receive neopoints for every time you vote, so you can only vote on your main account. Just vote on the one of the nine finalists that you like best! Remember that you can vote for a different pet each day, if you'd like, or even vote for the same pet every day. It's up to you; it's your vote!

Prizes

The nine semifinalists for each theme will win items, and the top three winners for each theme will win even more items along with 150 NC. If any of the winners are in a country without Neocash, then they will be given random NC items totaling up to what they were supposed to receive. The three overall finalists, as mentioned earlier, will win Neocash. First place nets you 1000 NC; second, 750; and third, 500. They will also win a trophy.
