The lever of DOOM is a rather odd addition to the Virtupets Space Station. It consists of a lever and a sign that says DO NOT PULL, yet millions of neopets pull the lever every day and suffer the consequences. You can find the Lever of DOOM HERE .

What are the consequences you say? Well if you blatantly disregard the large do not pull sign and decide that you will pull the lever anyway, you will be treated to a large evil mechanical hand reaching out towards you and stealing 100 of your precious neopoints. Why would anyone do this? Well, either they aren't terribly smart and don't believe what I say, or they are going after the avatar.

In order for you to get the avatar, you must pull the lever (duh!). Unfortunately it is completely random and happens only when the hand steals 100 NP, so you could pull the lever 50 times wasting 5000 NP and still not get the avatar, while your friend could get it the very first time, rubbing it in your face and never ever letting you forget it... or not.

Ah, but now I know what you are thinking, you think you can trick the evil mechanical hand, by having less than 100 NP on hand, but if you want the avatar (why else would you be there?) the hand has to steal 100 NP. If you get the message "How odd. Nothing happens when you pull the lever." then you don't have enough money and are wasting your precious time when you could be saving the world from meepits or ... sleeping.

Well that's all the info there is on this mysterious lever, so if you're after that avatar, get used to "Oh no!! An evil mechanical hand emerges from a panel and steals 100 Neopoints from you!!" and good luck...
