The Neopets Vault: Super Shop Wizard
The Super Shop Wizard (SSW) is one of the greatest features that comes with a Premium Neopets subscription. This feature is still available today, but changes have been made to its functionality and graphics. The SSW is very similar to the normal Shop Wizard everyone has access to. However, there were three key differences that made it highly sought after.
Three Key Features
1. The Super Shop Wizart automatically searches through every single shop in Neopia to find the lowest prices. The results are displayed with the lowest shop and price on the top, and works its way down, as shown below.
2. There was also a feature called Sniperspace. By clicking the launch into sniperspace button, a separate screen popped up, allowing faster searches. Sniperspace mode didn't wait for all the Neopets images and sidebars to load. Here is what sniperspace looked like.
3. At the bottom of the SSW, there was a little check box. This check box had the Super Shop Wizard automatically search the top 10 lowest prices and average them. The result displayed would be the avarage price between those 10 items. This feature is still in use today, but has gotten an upgrade.
Search Bans
When using the Super Shop Wizard, you could get banned from using this feature until the start of the next hour. By performing too many searches in a row, you tired the Super Shop Wizard and he would need a rest. Individual search limits varied from Neopian to Neopian. These temporary bans also occurred in sniperspace mode as well. A message would be displayed showing how much time you had to wait until you could use the Super Shop Wizard feature again. Neopians were still able to use the regular Shop Wizard while they were banned from the Super Shop Wizard. This feature is still in affect, with some upgrades to current Premium subscribers.
Non-Searchable Items
The Neopets Team put a restriction on searching certain items with the Super Shop Wizard. They felt it gave premium members an unfair advantage. Items that were not searchable in the Super Shop Wizard included laboratory map pieces, petpet paintbrushes, regular paintbrushes, and transmogrification potions. An error message would be shown if you tried to search a restricted item in the Super Shop Wizard.
