The Daily Neopets Christmas Logic Puzzle

From Monday, December 22 to Saturday, December 27 in 2008 we ran a Christmas logic puzzle. The goal was to figure out which pets received what gifts from which helpers. There were 24 phrases ("scrolls") hidden around the site and you had to figure out the puzzle solution from these 24 phrases. This was quite possibly our most mind-boggling puzzle yet! Here were the clues...

The Clues

• Robin had to hold herself back from eating the slushie she received.
• Cupid's snowball matched her personality.
• Two of the boys received brown coloured Petpets.
• The pets with names beginning with C did not recieve the Jinjah, but one did get the gigantic christmas tree.
• When Rudolph looked at her snowball, it looked back and sent icy shivers up her back; she also got a cold Petpet!
• Nick's petpet loved nothing more than bounding through snow drifts all day and enjoyed his christmas pudding.
• The person with the Jinja also recieved a Lemon Slushie.
• Rudolph's slushie matched her red nose.
• Nick couldn't hold onto his slushie.
• On first look Comet thought he had two petpets in total, when he recieved his gift from the Advent Calendar.
• Dasher recieved an item from the Ice Crystal Shop which appeared to be an oxymoron (check the dictionary!).
• Nick's snowball was the opposite of Dasher's.
• The boy with the Fire and Ice Slushie also recieved the Candychan!
• The Pteri's snowball was evil!
• The pet with the Loveberry Slushie later got the bell from the Advent Calendar.
• A girl recieved the Candy Cane from the Advent Calendar.
• The petpet Cupid recieved was similar to some of her other items.
• ONE of the boy pets got the Misteltoe Wreath.
• TAELIA'S CLUES:
  • We know that Taelia took a petpet from each of two of the girls.
  • The Snow Slushie was exhanged for Taelia's bed.
  • The person with the bell got their petpet exchanged for Taelia's snowball.
  • Hairy snowball got exchanged for Taelia's doll.
  • Taelia took Nick's petpet for her Token.
  • A boy got an Advent item exchanged for a negg and a girl got an item exchanged for Taelia's Coat - but it wasn't an advent item.

The Helpers

	Name : Rudolph Species : Aisha Gender : Female Rudolph is ace at carrying heavy things! She's been practicing every Christmas since Year 1!
	Name : Comet Species : Ogrin Gender : Male Just like his name Comet is famous for his agility and ... bright xmas lights! This character is certainly not going to get lost in the dark!
	Name : Robin Species : Pteri Gender : Female Robin's speed and precise vision meant she was more than able to make it through the snow. She also heard there might be gummi worms! :O
	Name : Dasher Species : Ruki Gender : Male Dashing about here and there, Dasher's fancy footwork make him a prime contender for racing across the snow!
	Name : Nick Species : Yurble Gender : Male Nick has brute strength and a dazzling outfit You can hear him coming a mile away with that jingly bell!
	Name : Cupid Species : Zafara Gender : Female Cupid deserved to get an early gift. As you can see she's a complete angel - no seriously! It's in her nature!

The Slushies

Each pet had to stop off at the Slushie Shop in Happy Valley and pick up a Slushie.

The Snowballs

Next stop was the Ice Crystal Shop inside the Ice Caves. The pets each collected a snowball from the shopkeeper.

Advent Calendar Gifts

Back at Happy Valley, the Advent Calendar was ready to give out a present to each of our pets.

The Snow Faerie's Gifts

The final trek was to the very top of the perilous mountain. There Taelia was waiting for them in her igloo, where she take one of their gifts and would reward them a special Taelia themed gift in exchange.
